Welcome Back

Welcome to Grade 5/6

Dear Parents and Guardians,

My name is Ms. Carolynn Scott and I delighted to be your child’s teacher this year.  I am excited to be joining the incredible staff at Rick Hansen Public School.  I have heard only positive things about both the students, staff and the community.

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with you and your child this year on their learning journey. As partners in your child’s education, it is important that you are fully aware of your child’s progress. During the school year, I will be sending assignments home for you to review and sign. I ask that you send them back to be stored in your child’s portfolio until the end of the school year.
I will be using blogger as a tool to help to keep you informed. The homework/agenda items will be posted daily. I will also try to highlight some of the key learning that we are doing to provide you a glimpse into our classroom.
I hope that together - you, your child and I - we can make this school year a rewarding and productive one. I look forward to meeting you at Curriculum Night on Wednesday September 27th.
Please feel free to communicate with me through the agenda, email, or call me at the school with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Carolynn Scott

Mackenzie Marsh

The grade 6's had the opportunity to go on a Biodiversity Walk to Mackenzie Marsh on Friday.  I was a beautiful day for our field trip.  The students were able to see many different species of birds and plants on our walk.  It was a great kick off to our learning!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!
